A new technique for recovering aged mineral oil to promote lifetime and sustainability

Using mineral oil (MO) derived from petroleum, e.g., transformer insulation, raises environmental risk and affects sustainability. Due to its affordability easy availability, MO will ineluctably be preferred over other biodegradable oils. Therefore, tools must developed recover aged MO, extend the life cycle, increase The work presented here is aimed at investigation of electrical insulation properties thermally-aged recovered-aged (RAMO), as well cellulose pressboard impregnated by fresh (FMO), (AMO), RAMO. AMO recovered using combined adsorbents, A* B*, which are Chitosan-activated Bentonite (CTN-aB) Polyaniline coated Kapok Fibre (PANI-c-KPF) mix. According FTIR, oil, RAMO, displays less C=C double bonds carbonyl vibrations 140°C, indicating lower ageing compared AMO. distribution crystalline amorphous peaks uniform for oil-impregnated (PB) with FMO Overall, it has been discovered that PB resulting in an extended lifetime solid insulation. As a result, emissions slows down, global sustainability targets met.
